2003-02-08 - 11:46 p.m. Friday Peyton, Alicia, Joel, Ben and I went to the Raven before going to see the school play, "Carousel". Well, The Raven was good. Big cookie. :) The school play, on the other hand, was so-so. I think Dowd and Naragur got a little too big for their britches. First of all, they should've let the students vote on which play. This isn't Civic Theatre, darlings. I know a lot more people would've been happy had they been able to have more input. Secondly, they shouldn't've put the German exchange student in the lead role. The poor guy had the worst time singing (his tune bucket had a hole... hell, it didn't even have a bottom). Thirdly, type casting is bad. This is not to say that the acting wasn't wonderful or that there wasn't acutal talent up there (we had the coolest stage crew EVER *giggle*)... It was just a little much for a high school play... especially our high school. Joel left during intermission. He wasn't doin' too good. : Of course, Peyton, Alicia and Ben picking on him probably didn't help.... lol Well, I get home and go to the 'puter and find an IM from Justin asking how the play was. We started talking and ended up going to see "Chicago" (you can close your mouths now, it wasn't a date :P). There were a few co-workers of Justin's going and who am I to turn down a free ticket? Mom put up a mild protest but I talked to her (with Justin's prodding) and she caved... I didn't actually expect her to... "Chicago" is AMAZING. Go see it. Now. Seriously. Why are you still reading this? GO!
